The QCLGA has three Special Competitions each year that require qualifiers to be played in conjunction with our regularly scheduled events. These qualifiers occur in the months of January – August.  Below is a list of the Special Competitions that the QCLGA sponsors. The Tournament Committee provides a Low Gross/Low Net results report to the tournament organizer following each qualifier. If you wish to qualify for these special events, you must complete all holes that day.

Additional information on these Special Competitions is also available on our Website under OUTSIDE PLAY.

STATE MEDALLION TOURNAMENT

QCLGA members are automatically signed up for the local State Medallion qualifiers. The player who obtains the lowest two gross scores and the player who obtains the lowest two net scores will qualify to play in the State Medallion Tournament in mid-January at a course designated by the Arizona Golf Association (AGA). Players need not participate in all four qualifiers to be eligible and will be notified of their eligibility after the last qualifier event.

SOUTHERN DISTRICT WOMEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION OF ARIZONA (SDWGA)

To participate in the two-home sponsored SDWDA tournaments, you must be a member of the SDWGA. The fee for the optional membership is $10.00 and is collected at the time of our annual QCLGA renewal process.

Membership in SDWGA entitles QCLGA members to participate in:

  • Del Sud Tournament – a two-day in-house net ringer tournament, and
  • Telegraph Tournament – a one-day in-house net tournament

These tournaments are played in conjunction with our regularly scheduled QCLGA play day games.

Members of SDWGA are also eligible to participate in SDWG-sponsored tournaments held at various courses throughout the year.

INTERCLUB COMPETITION

All QCLGA members are eligible to play Interclub.  The team will consist of eight players who have played in a qualifying round prior to each event. Teams will be determined by low net and low gross scores in the qualifying rounds. The Green Valley Interclub Committee will determine the game/format for each competition which may change annually.
