RINGER, BIRDIE, CHIP-IN COMPETITION
Fee to enter is $18; it includes all three competitions. The current competition “year” is November 16th of the current year through November 15th of the following year. Birdies, Chip-ins, and Ringers will only be recorded for official Ladies’ play days (and after a member has paid for the current period.) For the Ringer Competition, your lowest score on each hole is tracked; both gross and net Ringer prizes are awarded. Winners are announced at the annual Holiday and Awards Luncheon held in December.
Format to be Determined.
The competition is played by 7 (seven) Green Valley clubs from May through August. Standing Rules for Interclub play are established by the Green Valley Interclub Committee. Points are accumulated by each Club Team throughout the competition. Winners are declared for net points accumulated. The Quail Creek Interclub Team is made up of members who have indicated their availability for each event, and have qualified by playing to their ability, as indicated by improving their handicap index from the prior period.
QCLGA members in good standing are eligible to participate in the annual Member-Guest Tournament, the Copper Quail Classic. The guest must be female and not a member of any golf related association of Quail Creek Country Club (QCLGA, or The Lady Niners), or play in Quail Creek Couples’ Association Tournaments. There shall be no more than a 10-stroke handicap differential between member and guest.
Robson Communities sponsor an annual Robson Challenge Tournament, which is a competition between the Ladies Golf Associations from the Arizona Robson Communities. The Quail Creek Robson Challenge Team is made up of members who have qualified by playing on established qualification play dates.
STATE MEDALLION TOURNAMENT
QCLGA members are automatically signed-up in the local State Medallion Tournament (there is no additional cost). The Tournament is a Low Gross/Low Net competition and consists of the total of the two best gross and two best net 18-hole rounds out of a designated four rounds. Players need not participate in all four rounds to be eligible.
To become eligible to join the 2-Club, a player who scores a gross 2 on any hole (not just par 3s) must pay $1 to all 2-Club members in her group. Once a 2-Club member, that player will receive $1 from the other 2-Club members she is playing with whenever she scores a gross 2 on any hole. 2-Club members should be wearing or displaying the official 2-Club Pin or Bag Tag during the round to receive the $1 from the other players. Official 2-Club Pins and Bag Tags are available for purchase from the QCLGA 2-Club representative. The 2-Club is not limited to Quail Creek, but is a nationwide/international Club, and is not limited to QCLGA play days.
The rules and amount of payment may vary according to each club.
SOUTHERN DISTRICT WOMEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION OF ARIZONA (SDWGA)
